New Study Suggests Cannabis Could Be Effective in Treating Crohn’s Disease

A new study has found that cannabis could be an effective treatment for Crohn’s Disease, a chronic inflammatory bowel disease that affects millions of people worldwide.

What is Crohn’s Disease?

Crohn’s Disease is a condition that causes inflammation in the digestive tract, leading to symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, and fatigue. The exact cause of Crohn’s Disease is unknown, but it is believed to involve a combination of genetic, environmental, and immune system factors.

The Study

The study, published in the Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology, tested the effects of cannabis on 42 patients with Crohn’s Disease. The patients received oral cannabis extracts for 8 weeks, and their symptoms were monitored throughout the study period.

Results

The results of the study showed that the majority of patients experienced significant improvement in their symptoms after taking the cannabis extracts. Inflammation in the digestive tract was also reduced in the patients who took the cannabis extracts.

Implications

These findings suggest that cannabis could be a promising treatment for Crohn’s Disease, especially for patients who have not responded well to conventional medications. However, further research is needed to fully understand the potential benefits and risks of using cannabis for Crohn’s Disease.

Conclusion

This study provides new hope for individuals suffering from Crohn’s Disease, and it highlights the need for continued research into the potential therapeutic effects of cannabis. While more studies are needed to confirm these findings, the results of this study are certainly encouraging for patients and their healthcare providers.

In fact my barber has been living with Crohns for many years and the only treatment he has stuck with is cannabis, and when asked his answer is side effects. The big Pharma options come with a laundry list of side effects that cannabis doesn’t have. Or at least I don’t remember any.
